DESCRIPTION:This is a thematic trimester programme with short courses\, se
minars and workshops on mathematical developments in Geophysical Fluid Dyn
amics (GFD). This interdisciplinary programme will bring together mathemat
icians\, applied mathematicians and physicists. Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
covers a very broad spectrum of applications in oceanography and atmosphe
ric sciences.\nApril 13 to July 10\, 2026 at the Institut Henri Poincaré
\, Paris\nThe conferences and courses of this programme are available on \
 n\nREGISTRATION IS CLOSED\nIMPORTANT WARNING:  Scam / Phishing / SMiShin
g ! Note that ill-intentioned people may be trying to contact some of part
icipants by email or phone to get money and personal details\, by pretendi
ng to be part of the staff of the conference center.  IHP and the organiz
ers will NEVER contact you by phone on this issue and will NEVER ask you t
o pay for accommodation/ board / possible registration fee in advance. \n
Deadline for financial support request is October 15\, 2025\nGeophysical F
luid Dynamics covers a wide range of applications in atmospheric and ocean
ic sciences. Historically studied by physicists and applied mathematicians
\, rotating fluids have been the subject of many recent results involving
the analysis of PDEs. However\, exchanges between these communities remain
relatively rare and isolated.\nOur programme aims at strengthening exchan
ges between the applied community (geophysics\, physics\, numerics and app
lied mathematics) and the one involved in more theoretical developments on
Partial Differential Equations. This programme at the IHP will aim at dev
elopping truly interdisciplinary interactions on these issues.\nThis progr
amme will be anchored by three week-long workshops. These workshops will s
erve as a starting point for a number of themes which will then be develop
ed by the programme participants.\nProgramme participants are expected to
participate for at least a good part of the period between one workshop (w
hich introduced a particular theme) and the next workshop. During this per
iod\, specific topics will be discussed in depth in a more interactive way
.\nThe IHP setting is ideal for informal interaction between scientists.\n
