DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Glenn Barnich (Bruxelles)\n\nThe memory effect for R
obinson-Trautman waves is explicitly worked out. In a first step\, we appl
y the combined frame rotation and coordinate transformation that makes Rob
inson-Trautman waves asymptotically flat. This allows us to use well-estab
lished results on how to derive the memory effect in this context. The loc
al mass-loss formula for the generalized mass aspect\, which is shown to b
e manifestly positive\, provides a new formulation of the Robinson-Trautma
n evolution equation. The no-news sector of the theory is identified with
the vacuum sector of Euclidean Liouville theory.\n\nhttps://indico.math.cn
