DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Tino Laidin (Univ. Bretagne occidentale)\n\nI will p
 resent a work in collaboration with M. Bessemoulin-Chatard and T. Rey\, in
which we consider a non-linear kinetic model describing the reaction of t
wo-species. It can be considered as a simplified version of models describ
ing the generation and recombination of electron-hole pairs in semiconduct
ors. I will introduce a finite volume discretization of this model for whi
ch we can prove an exponential decay towards the steady state using discre
te hypocoercivity methods. After presenting the ideas of the proof in the
continuous framework\, I will highlight the main difficulties induced by t
he discretization process. The properties of the method will then be illus
 trated by several numerical examples.\n\nhttps://indico.math.cnrs.fr/event
