DESCRIPTION:\nMatrices that arise from a large range of problems in mathem
atics\, physics\, engineering etc. typically display a characteristic stru
cture\, such as sparsity patterns or a rank structure (e.g.\, quasi/semi-s
eparable\, Toeplitz-like etc. ). Exploiting this structure is the key to t
he design of more efficient algorithms.\n\n\n\nThe study of structured mat
rices is an interdisciplinary field that places itself at a crossroads bet
ween symbolic computation (uni- and multivariate polynomial computation\,
matrix polynomials...)\, numerical linear algebra (solution of linear syst
ems\, classical and generalized eigenvalue problems\, functions of matrice
s...)\, and more generally all applications that involve structured proble
ms. We aim to provide an opportunity for researchers from several fields t
o present their results\, exchange ideas\, develop and improve collaborati
ons.\n\nThe workshop will include four invited talks\, plus contributed ta
lks. We encourage all participants to propose a talk and share their resul
ts\, research problems and goals.\n\nInvited speakers:\n\n\n Francesca
Arrigo (Università dell'Insubria)\n Robert Luce (École Polytechnique
Fédérale Lausanne)\n Clément Pernet (Université de Grenoble\, LIP)\
nLeonardo Robol (KU Leuven)\n\n\n \n\nDeadline:\n\n\n April 25\, 2016:
deadline for registration and for submitting a contributed talk.\n\n\n \
n\nOrganizing committee: Moulay Barkatou\, Paola Boito (XLIM-DMI\, Univer
sité de Limoges).\n\n \n\n \n\nhttps://indico.math.cnrs.fr/even
