Quid of Lie groupoids?

The aim is to present the Lie groupoids as some geometric objects
generalizing smooth manifolds, Lie groups, and regular equivalence
relations at the same time. After presenting them, we will see their
algebraic counterpart and present some natural questions about the relevant
homology theories.
