Description

The moduli space of Einstein metrics on a given closed manifold is not well-understood, even locally. I review the deformation theory of Einstein metrics and discuss some recent progress on compact symmetric spaces. In particular, the deformability of the standard metric on complex Grassmannians is studied. This is a joint effort with Uwe Semmelmann and Stuart J. Hall.
